We are harassed (again...) by a crazy relative of dh... he's on facebook insulting us and all. I would love to block him. If I do, can he still pm? Can he read the pms we sent him before we blocked?

no, if you block him he won't even be able to search for you on facebook- your name won't come up. he won't be able to send you messages or anything.

When you block a person on Facebook, that person is - unlike on other social networking sites - really BLOCKED. He can't see your profile, he can't find you when he searches for you, can't send you messages, can't add you etc. This is if he doesn't open a new account, but then again, you can block that other account in another second.
I don't think PMs that you sent to him, before you blocked him, will be deleted automatically, though.

He can click on it, but CAN'T see your profile or your anything. It is for him like as if you are not a member of Facebook anymore.

so he can read the pms I sent, but I can't send new ones and neither can he. Thanks so much. I'm so fed up of these crazy in laws.

Just breath and relax, and still be happy they exist otherwise you wouldn't have your DH and your baby....!!!
