We have a bris in Shul tommorrow and although there's supposed to be a BIG meal, our shul is so crowded no one ever gets to sit down and enjoy. So dh asked me to make a light lunch at home for after kiddush.

I am at a loss. I've only ever made huge elaborate lunches... I need menu help!

So far I have

(of course, Challah)
egg salad
eggplant salad
Ceviche (sort of like a shrimp cocktail but with tilapia instead of shrimp)

Any other ideas?

My parents and sibs and BIL and SIL are tagging along. So I need to make a light lunch for 11 people...

Cole cut salad

deli roll

you could still make chulent, kishka, potato kugel, broccoli kugel, lokshen (sweet) kugel for the people who didn't get to eat or did not want to eat these items by the kiddush.

Chumus, salat turki (Turkish salad), techina, lots of salads, baked salmon?
Challah of course, but also some really yum bread (like italian bread).
Pesto noodle salad? Does it have to be meaty?

Because for dairy there are tons of options (lasagna, yummy noodle salad, delicious spreads, bagels/cream cheese, etc).

why don't you just add cold cuts to that (and perhaps some dips). that's light enough for someone that doesn't want much yet plenty to make a sandwhich for someone who does want a meal...

Falshe fish is gefilte fish balls you make with chicken = chicken balls. Ground chicken, of course.

Thanks so much guys! I ended up making egg salad, tuna salad, shmaltz herring (yeah, I got creative. And it was gross. But dh loved it), caesar salad and deli rolls. And for desert we had some store bought cookies. It was perfect!
