and it got black and all smoky. I never realized that you can burn food in the microwave and actually turn black and the microwave can emit smoke. Had a cucumber instead .

Microwaves are very strong. Didn't you ever defrost something in it and it started cooking? Or put in popcorn for too long and it burned? It's quite serious, I'm glad you had something else to eat though, lol!

I once put a chicken sandwich in a wrapper in the microwave.
I heard a low boom and whipped around to see blue flames crawling all around the microwave...turns out the wrapper had a foil coating on the inside.
little did I know. I now know. B"H we all lived to tell the tale.

I got a sweet potatoe to share ... sorry about your lunch ...
I didn't really have a microwave and now we only use it for popcorn and to warm up milk for coffee ...
but I recall once burning pizza in a microwave ... I was rather shocked ...
