I started solids about a week and a bit ago and he took to it really well and was gobbling down what I offered but today he is refusing any food I offer him. He kvetches and turns away and clamps his mouth shut.
Any ideas what's happening?

Are you offering him the same food or a variety? Could be he got bored and you need to try a different flavor. Also, is it possible he has a cold or a strept throat and that's causing him to refuse? Teething is also a very common cause. The gums and mouth is in pain making it difficult to eat.
Maybe even a stomache reaction to the solids and he's in pain. There can be many reasons. See how long he refuses and if it's more than 2 days then have it checked by a doctor.
