I'm amother because I don't want it to sound like I'm bragging...

After I dropped DS off at Gan I realized later in the day that I had his backpack with me with his mid-day meal. I felt terrible, but it made no sense to go back at that point. When I picked him up at Gan I told him I'm so sorry we forgot his backpack... instead of being upset that he had no food, he said "Mommy, I'm so sad I couldn't give tzedakah today" (his tzedakah money was in his backpack)

I almost started crying.

Thanks everyone for sharing in the nachas. I really credit the gan. Most gans probably do this, but they really make the kids feel good about giving tzedaka. I can't help but compare our little neshamas to the Arab kids who make throat-slitting gestures.
