Its random because if this is a replacement for the school lunch my kids would have gotten, how is grape juice helpful?

Where I live, we are still getting them.

I find it funny that you put this under healthy cooking! As much as I'm happy to still get them, I cant wait till it stops so that I will have to start cooking healthy for my kids- not all these frozen processed carby, fatty stuff!

I live in Baltimore and it's just ending now. But who is forcing you to go get the boxes and use all of the frozen, processed, carb heavy, fatty foods? I skip the boxes more weeks because I don't want the food they are offering. Keep what you want, give away the rest. Cook healthy.

Two pickups stopped. Tomorrows the last day for seven miles.

I heard the TI box was renewed for another year. Is that not true?

We get it a lot in the boxes.
For a while it was tiny bottles so we still had to buy.
We dont like the heavy full sugar ones. No one needs that. Would prefer light grape juice.
These are supposed to be breakfast and lunches for my kids for school days. My kids dont use grape juice for lunch. Also has almost no nutritional value but takes up a "fruit/vegetable" component. Same with apple juice. We got tons of that.
It's just a little odd.
But again, not going to complain to anyone and this isnt a complaint, just an observation...

Outside of our circles, grape juice is considered a standard drink for daily meals. We've just associated with Shabbos so to us it sound weird. To the rest of the world, grape juice is equivalent to apple & orange juice.

Taxes, I'd assume.

I also did not know those food boxes were still a thing in the US. Sounds nuts to me.

I am in NJ and hope my taxes are not funding this.

Ingredients for kedem light grape juice:
Ingredients. Grape Juice, Grape Juice Concentrate, Water, Acesulfame Potassium, Potassium Metabisulfite Added To Enhance Freshness.
Acesulfame potassium is a fake sugar.

Ok maybe not exactly aspartame but it has an equivalent artificial sweetener. Really not good stuff

wow, I never knew that. I thought it was also a preservative like potassium metabisulfite. Not that that is any better.

I use blush grape juice much better

Anyway there's an update: food boxes were approved on a federal level. Now each state gets to decide how to proceed

We also like blush. Lower in calories and milder taste.
So happy to hear they were extended!
