Bat-Zion!
-acceptable in chareidi circles
-not common
-no one would ever say Bas-Zion - too hard to pronounce

Moriah
Tzofia (somehow reminds me of Yerushalayim, maybe because of Har Hatzofim?)
Ora (Yerushalayim Oro shel Olam)
Nava (shir hashirim connection to yerushalayim?)
Atara (Yerushalayim is the crown of the world?)
Ariella was mentioned earlier (Ariel is another name for Yerushalayim)

I named my daughter Elisheva and I love the name. I’ve gotten plenty of compliments on it.

Elisheva means Hashem is my oath, or sworn to Hashem - something like that.

And if you’re looking for an Av connection, her husband Ahron was niftar on Rosh Chodesh Av.

Thanks! My first thought when someone suggested Elisheva was the Aharon Hakohen connection - I have a family member born on Rosh Chodesh Av who was named Aharon, so I knew that Smile

I'm really liking this idea. Now I just need to figure out how to connect it to our grandmothers Smile

My DD has a Bat Tzion in her class. They call her Batzi, which I think is such a waste of a beautiful name!

I also knew someone in the US growing up who was Bas Tzion.

Is it actually a Tanachi name? As in, the name of a woman in Tanach?

You realize that your list of "hakpados" just basically nixed every name out there?

Lol, yes.

I mostly meant the "hakpados" part tongue-in-cheek - it's not a word I ever use, so using it here was a way to poke fun at my list of requirements. But of course nobody here knows me, so how would you all know that Wink

The only dealbreaker is a yiddish name.
