Rolling Stones-- you can't always get what you want.

We'll travel south crossland
Put out the fire
And don't look past my shoulder"

Teenage Wasteland oh yeah, it's only teenage wasteland.
Baba O' Reilly
The Who
Here's one I rank as difficult:
"Well deep in the heart of a lonely kid
sufferin' so much for what he did
He gave this poor boy his fortune and fame
Since that day he ain't been the same"

no, WitchAY woman.
Costanza, I had to cheat. I can safely say there was no way in the world I ever would have gotten that one.

Well then I'll just say (as a clue and a fact) that it is part of the soundtracks to one of, arguably, the best rock and roll documentaries ever made, The Last Waltz.

Sorry, Costanza, looks like you've stumped us for now...but here's a good one:
I guess you'd call it suicide,
but I'm too full
to swallow my pride...

OK, mine was "Stagefright" by The Band
Sorry, Elf, yours doesn't ring a bell right now.
I'm going to take my shower.
I'll leave you with this one:
"Half my life's in books written pages
Lived and learned from fools and from sages"

You know its true .... all your feeling come back to you.
Sing with me, sing for the years
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tears
Sing with me, just for today, never tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away ...
Dream On ... Dream On, Dream On, dream until your dreams come true.
Aerosmith

When I'm with you, it doesn't matter where we are
or what we're doing
I'm with you that's all that matters
Time passes much too quickly
When we're together laughing

I didn't read that part of the thread!
I know that one-- it's the theme song for Big Love.

OK, gonna jump in for some light fun!
I don't know Costanza's last one (sounds familiar, but can't place it)...
Here's one by a band I don't think anyone has used yet:
If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung,
Would you hear my voice come through the music?
Would you hold it near as it were your own?
It's a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken,
Perhaps they're better left unsung.
I don't know, don't really care,
Let there be songs to fill the air.
(The next word -- beginning of the chorus -- will be the name of the song...)

Ahh...it's a nice tune from Chicago...
the next line is Mostly I'm silent or something...don't know the title..
thanks Barbara...like this one..
Who'll be my role-model
Now that my role-model is
Gone Gone
He ducked back down the alley
With some roly-poly little bat-faced girl
All along along
There were incidents and accidents
There were hints and allegations
