I need a car seat for on a a 6 month old that is easy to install in a cab. I'm going to be shlepping it alone on a plane and we don't have a car so it will only be used in cabs. I am returning my infant seat since its pevious owner needs it soon b'shaa tova.

maybe just get a bucket car seat which is easy to install. graco has a new one that goes up to 35 pounds so you might get another year out of it.

Yes, get the Graco Safeseat 32, it is good for up to 32 pounds and very easy to use in a cab without its base.

Or you can call a car service with carseats. We are travelling iy"H this week and are taking carservices that have carseats to and from the airport and renting a car with a carseat at our destination rather than taking our carseat with us, I figured there would be no place to put a carseat on a plane if we did not buy a seat for the baby.
