I bought a small brisket (weighs about a pound and a bit...). It cost $18 (maybe that gives you a better idea of its size...)
Anyway, I was just wondering whether the boiling time of this pickled brisket will be shorter than the 2-3 hours that most recipes call for.

I generally cook brisket in the oven rather than boiling it.....so I can only speak for cooking it...but yes the cooking is less. In the oven I generally guess about 1 lb per hour at a 300 degree oven. I hope that helps.
