Back in Shushan, the Jews shed tears
When they were forced to face their fears
The evil Haman was deranged -
But Esther came, and all that changed!
Later, the scared Red Riding Hood
Emerged triumphant from the wood
Another enemy in defeat
They lost, we won - so now let's eat

Look in the forest; see a girl all in red
A basket in arms, and a hood on her head
She won’t stop to have fun, and play with a friend
She is out on a mission, which I can commend
She may show at your door, goodies to spare
A special delivery, wrapped with much flair
She comes just on Purim, goodies in hand
Not just for Grannie, which is really quite grand
She comes at a time, to wish you be blessed
And you know the best part you just may have guessed
For if the food you don’t want either too sweet or too sour
Perhaps cuz it’s made with plain old white flour
If by chance you have food ,and there’s a little to spare
There’s a wolf on the prowl, who just loves to share
