I like the name manoach-but we dont know much about shimshons father....was he a tzaddiik?
any info?

The gemara says that he was an am haaretz. It's in Berachot but I'd have to look up where if you want to know.

It's a nice name with a good meaning though.

In Israel Hebrew, manoach (= "the manoach", noun) means z"l, deceased. I would not name my baby that name.

It doesn't "mean" deceased. Manoah means rest. Hamanoah is used to refer to a deceased person as in 'the person at rest'.

It's a perfectly fine name.
