I'm b'shaa tova having another boy and we're kind of out ideas for names. We don't name after anybody. I would say what my other boys names are, but that will give me away of what I'm having and I don't divulge that to anybody besides my dh. I also could check online for names, like we've done in the past, but this is less work LOL . I'm having another sono iy"h and I'm going to ask the tech if maybe they made a mistake and it's a girl LOL and then I won't have to worry about this because girls names are not a problem Wink , but boys names, we're out of ideas. The only thing for a maybe is Ilan, but I really don't love it. Thanks a bunch!!

How about Amitai? My oldests name Smile
Alon, Yonatan, Avihai, Yair, Nadav, Adiel, Doron

Non-Tanachi names popular in Israel now are Tom and Shawn, no I'm not kidding.

I'm looking for either one, whichever I like, but I don't want biblical like, moshe, aaron, yosef, etc.. I prefer if it didn't start with an aleph, but I'm not that particular. No, I don't live in a hebrew speaking country.

You forgot that Tom is a girl (at least the two I know). Actually it's Tome. With the long "o" sound. Meaning innocence. I hate that name.

So you're looking for uncommon names.
How about Barzilai? Tamar (can be for both male & female), Mattan (good name for Shevuos time), Zerach, Chavakuk.
I know someone who named her son "Ben". Never heard of this name before.

Asher?

She prefers that it doesn't start with an Aleph.

If the sono tech made a mistake and it's a girl, we have enough ideas for a girls name, that's why girls names are not a problem.

Ben has been around for a long time. The singer Jozie Katz (ex American) named her sons Shem and Ben, and that was probably about 40 years ago.
The thing is there are some very beautiful names, but some look odd in English, which I am going to assume is your native tongue.
Ofer (oafer)
Ido
Omer (good for Shavuot)
Assaf (sorry, Alef)
Ori
Uri
Amit (ayin)
Yuval
Yaron
Dror (drawer)
Yishay (father of David HaMelech, for Shavuot)
we have a boy on the block named Yeheli יהלי
Yinon
Yoav
Ma'or
Nir (he's near ya!)
Nachshon

Adam is very nice but she wants a not common name.

My cousin (boy) is Tom. The mom said it means "end".

Someone mentioned Havakkuk but I wouldn't. It's a guilty pleasure name for me, but if OP is in an English speaking country it could be problematic. It very easily becomes Have a Cookie if the kid is a little chubby...

All of my kids' names come to mind (see sig), Zevulun especially.

Some other thoughts:
Gad
Itamar
Kalev
Yitro
Uri

Not sure I know your style really....

I asked this couple who ran a toy store why they chose the name Sean/Shawn. They said it sounded like something you'd singsong to a baby, "lech lee-shon".

And this woman who named her daughter Bar - she said it was nice and short.
