I feel like such a bad mother. My 9 month old prefers my husband waaaay more than me. When my husband leaves he screams and screams when he comes home he crawls over to him and cries until he picks him up. If he wakes up at night he only wants my husband. If I hold him he cries. This is not the relationship I envisioned with my son. I was looking forward to the unconditional love of baby to his mommy and I feel sad.
I home with him a few mornings and Sunday (more than my husband) I am the one who picks him up from the babysitter and puts him to sleep....
Any words of advice or support?

has it always been this way or is this something recent? babies do reach a stage at which they prefer their fathers, usually when they start to relate more to the world at large. It has nothing to do with how good or bad a mother you are.
As to the holding, babies sometimes prefer to be held by men because men are bigger and their grip may feel more secure, or because they're taller and the view is better.

Likely a stage. My baby went through one where he very much preferred his oldest sister to me.

Are you holding him facing in? Maybe he'd rather be facing out, so he can see.
