Even in Israel, the name isn't pronounced correctly. It should be NeeSEEM, like the miracles of Chanuka, but Nissims here end up being NEEseem.

Wouldn't Nissim spelled with Yud between Nun and Samekh, so different from nissim as in miracles? Or is it spelled the same way?

Like this. My husband is very particular about it when people use his full Hebrew name (it's one of my FIL's names). Most don't say it right though...
