Hi there - IY"H we will have a family simcha in Silver Springs, MD the first Shabbos after Succos. My extended family is trying so hard to accomodate us (kosher food, etc...) but we would really like to avoid spending Shabbos in a hotel. Anyone out there able to give me some leads on where to stay (anything near a shul); hachnasos orchim goups. etc.... We are a family of 5 (kids aged 22 mo, 4 and 6 at time of simcha).
I really appreciate the help.

Which area would you need to get to on Shabbat? There are a few areas within Silver Spring (Woodside, Kemp Mill, and I think White Oak is also officially Silver Spring), and a few different eruv areas. Can you give an idea of where you would need to be on Shabbat?

Because I couldn't help you; my sole contribution was to correct you and I felt bad. But coming from the region, I just notice it. I guess that somewhere, considering there's this conservation of matter and energy thing, Johns Hopkins just lost their s.
