Hi everyone,
I'm wondering if you could offer a list of modern orthodox and/or zionist baby name ideas. Boy and girl!
Thanks

Tzion(a)
Bentsion
Batzion/Bastsion
Israel/Yisroel/Yisruel
Israela
Yehudi, Yehudit?
Herzel
All the places: Moria, Golan, Sinai(a), Hermon(a), Natania, Hertslia, Ranana...
Amishav and all the am names
That's for Zionist. For MO you have all kinds, from those who give Yiddish to those who make up names. many use a name like Liora, Talia, Nir, Odelia, Liam, Galia, Ethan, Lior, Yoan... as first and family names after.

Zionist, like specifically related to the Zionist idea (Tzion, Herut, etc)? Or like, dati leumi?
Some popular dati-leumi names:
girls - Moriya, Shira, Noa, Halleli, Tehila, Yael.
boys - Matan, Noam, Yonatan... hmm... most boys names are good, those tend to be more "classic" (eg. Yehuda, Tzvi, Ezra, etc, are all perfectly normal and common names in the dati leumi world). To make it really dati leumi sounding you just add an "iyel" or "iyad" at the end - Ezriel, Aviad, etc.

Today I heard of a boy called Tavor. As Ruchel said, all the locations are very popular.
Carmel
Yarden
Kineret
Hermon
I even heard of a Levanon
Golan
In right wing circles, I've heard of a Nachala and a Nachala Sheleima.

Can I still be DL if my kids have more traditional names? And if I don't particularly care for most of the names mentioned here?
Dror is not a good name for people with English speaking relatives.

LOL Grace.
Dh was stuck on wanting a zionistic / Israel type name for ds. We only had a ds after we left EY and came back. But we kept coming back to Avraham, both of us, and feeling it was the name. But he wanted something zionistic. So finally (the night before the Brit) I told dh "who was the first person to make Ayliah?????" Well there you go. Avraham is a zionistic name.

Some good advice: Ask whichever of your friends has the worst Hebrew accent to pronounce your child's prospective name before you decide.
Example: If your daughter may ever in her lifetime set foot in an Anglo Saxon country or socialize with Anglos, avoid the lovely name "Bat Ami". In Anglo mouths it will come out as "Bottomy". Trust one who knows.

More on Yirat. Apparently the name has been used since Middle Ages especially in Yekke and Italian Yekke circles, sometimes under the form Yiras. My dh has an old cousin named so, I found out recently, who is not MO by any stretch...
