I was asked to find out if there is an english speaking al-anon meeting in Israel-for a seminary girl. She said Yerushalayim or Ma'aleh Adumim area would be best.

Posting it here as 1-she is a teenager, and 2-I wanted the question on the open forum for a better chance of response.

TIA

Call 566-3612. Also, you should beware that this is not necessarily a religious group. You will find all types at these meetings. Good luck!

There is one in Jerusalem also. I think it's Wednesday night on Hapalmach (?) 24 at 8:00 or 8:30.

Al-Anon, a 12-step group for family and friends of alcholics, meets Wednesdays from 7:45-8:45 PM in Jerusalem, at the Morasha Matnas (Community Center), Shivtei Israel 22, near the Irya. (The contact phone number given in Yael's post is no longer in service.) No dues, no obligations, and a comfortable atmosphere for frum people.

do people with other "anon" issues go too? In our city we have a SA-anon meeting, but I don't know if that exists in Israel. My dd could use some kind of support.
