Like so many stores, they ring you up, have you pay, and send you on your way with the itemized receipt last. There's almost no chance to check it...and I ended up paying for 2 of the 3 things I came home with.

So - how big a deal is this; is the store Jewish owned or not? I don't see spending subway fare both ways to return a three dollar item!

why don't you call them and tell them that you will bring it next time you are there.

I don't know about their ownership. But I agree- call or email them.
We once forgot to pay for something left in the baby's stroller...in Chicago! (we live in NY). We weren't getting back there! I emailed the store about where to mail the money and they said don't worry about it. Include your name and you may even make a kiddush HaShem!

hey, it's their mistake. I dont think you are halachically obligated to go out of your way to pay them back...esp. since it's a huge company and not a shopkeeper who would suffer from the 3 dollar loss.

For 3$ its worth to make a kiddush hashem and next time youre there bring along at least the upc scan bar and pay for it.

would you call and expect 3$ returned if they overcharged you?

I am not sure if you're mechuyiv or not to return it but the opportunity to make a big Kiddush Hashem is in your hands. I would try to get it there some way (and of course make sure they somehow know that I'm Jewish Smile )
