If you don't have a self clean oven, try baking soda diluted in water. I googled it and got some good ideas for proportions.
There are also oven cleaning sprays.

If the oven is that dirty, then BAKING SODA Wll not do much. Get a spray from the cleaning aisle.

self clean will be a button on the stove, near the buttons for bake/broil, etc. it will say self clean on it.

although I have a self clean oven, I use an easy off, fume free spray to clean up big clumps of food that have collected on bottom of oven or door. spray inside, let the spray sit for 10 minutes, or whatever the instrucitons say, and then scrub it with a strong sponge.

if you want to save yourself work in the future, use an oven liner. then if food falls on the liner you can just take it out, and put in a new one, they are disposable. saves tons of work.

It's a disposable tin liner that is placed on the bottom shelf (not the floor of the oven), used to catch any spills from cooking on the above shelf.

OP, buy St Moritz or Shunamit. Take the bottom oven piece that is charred and dirty outside. Use very long gloves and be very careful. This stuff is dangerous, and can cause serious burns.
Spray the oven piece carefully. Allow it to sit for a bit while you go back inside.
Scrub off (still using gloves) with scrubber. Wash and rinse well.
Keep oven cleaner high up and locked up.
