From my 17 year old DS:

"But, Ima, 25 is already old."

OK, here's the whole conversation:

DS: Why would anybody want to stay in the army for 20 years?

Ima: Because then you get a pension and you're about 45 and still young enough to get a new job and have the pension money and the job money.

DS: Ima, 45 is not young.

Ima: When I was your age I thought that somebody 45 had one foot in the grave and might as well put the other one in also but now I've changed my mind and you probably will too.

DS: Ok, not to die at 45 but it's old - even 30 is old.

Ima: I don't think 30 is old.

DS: But, Ima, 25 is already old.

My DD (3 years old) said the other day 'in the olden days, when I was 2...'

MY cousin once asked my aunt 'how old were you when the olden days ended?'
