Nice blog! I enjoyed reading. One year we also gave out 'fortune cookie's - in take out boxes, but I just made hamentaschen and added a fortune that I baked into it. The fortunes had my kids names - like 'Rabbi Akiva say learn Torah, live long - things like that.

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback.
Lilacdreams - I definitely feel like I do live in Antarctica, some days...lol. (Nope, only cold Montreal) However, now we got such a sudden turn the opposite direction in temperature. I know I will have a fight with my boys tomorrow, regarding hats and scarfs.

I want to join in admiring your blog. I especially want to thank you for the silver "polishing" trick. I absolutely hate polishing the few pieces of silver I own and your trick worked like a charm. I spent 10 minutes and my candlesticks and the kiddush cup look beautiful for shabbos now! And my kids really enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing.

Funny, so far we have done three of those-chefs and waiters, marching band (started out as toy soldiers, but MM changed it to the band-same type of costume), and crayons.

Gotta say that my costumes look more costumy and less authentic than yours.

great blog! my kids are being woody and buzz, ages 1.5 and 4. sooo not my type of thing, but their bubby bought it for them and who am to reject free things? our theme is so cute though, stars/space. I bought these adorable boxes that fold into themselves to close with a star on top and I'll make star cookies and star candies, and I'm sure I'll come up w/ a few other things. it was very nice to see what you did.
