My first grade son is having social problems at school. Most of the children don't want to play with him. Part of the reason might be that he can act a little bit annoying sometimes. Do you think a psychologist can help with social problems in a first grader? Any other suggestions? Thank you.

I don't think a psychologist is what you need. There are social skills play groups out there. Maybe talk to your pediatrician.

As a Morah I've sent kids to a social skills group led by a psychologist, and also a licensed social worker who works one on one with kids. check with your school - they should have all those resources at their fingertips, and they may also have somebody in the school itself who works with kids while they're in school.
