Anyone have a Hoover SteamVac Carpet Cleaner with Clean Surge, F5914-900, or similar? Do you like it?
Is that the best brand for steam type carpet cleaners? Is there a better Steam cleaner for carpets, thats in the same price range?

I have it. It's not bad and I know that it has the best reviews out there. It's very simple to use and it definitely is cleaning something because the water that it picks up is really dirty. It's not great on actual stains (I usually have to get down on my hands and knees with a sponge to get them). Otherwise I have no real complaints, except that I wish it were a lighter.

How long do you have it? Is there another one you've heard of that you would consider if you were buying now?

I've had mine for almost two years (? I think). I actually just searched recently to see if there's a lighter-weight one that's also good (It's really hard for me to shlepp this one on the stairs), but this Hoover kept coming up with the highest ratings (at least in this price range).
