my husbands is 800 a week full time often 14-16 hour days. I don't work and we don't have kids yet Baruch Hashem. Is that supposed to be enough in NY? With the price of gas and everything else so high?

I didn't write how much we bring in because it's irrelevant to anyone else. My husband is in a good (for now, Hashem decides) field and commands an impressive salary. He has a BA and 2 MAs, is very bright and there is a need for his skills. That's what employers are willing to pay him for. He won't settle for a lesser job or salary and BH hasn't had to. This cannot be applied across the board to everyone with a bunch of degrees, or even to him all the time (he was unemployed for 18 months). You have to do your hishtadlut, learn, invest time, be serious and after that hope for the best. Nothing is written in stone.

~9500nis/month which is about 2700$/month - three kids

this includes my sallary which comes from a Bsc, almost four years experiance and a full time job bh, plus the (very) little my husband gets from half a day kollel.

9000 shekels a month / $2500 a month

But I agree with what Tamiri said. There could be two people with the same amount of education and job experience and they could be making different salaries. It all depends on so many different things.

I agree with the previous posters. So many variables are up to Hashem. I'm one of the above posters that makes close to $5000 a month. It fluctuates due to the rate of the dollar. My husband and I both, for the most part, do not have higher education. So how do we do it? We were very lucky to land the jobs we did, and we work very hard to prove ourselves to our employers.

How can you be green with envy when you don't even know what currency they are earning or what their expenses are?
