hi,
do you use inet at home or is your access in the office/workplace?
dh and I are online A LOT. the best excuse we have is that we are actually working. which is true. but I also spend time online watching youtube-clips, listening to music, reading 2 forums (one of which is imamother ) etc.
I left facebook recently and I REALLY dont miss it. this already saves me so miuch time, I am wondering how much more time I would save, if I wouldnt have inet-access at home.
I definitely use the inet to work and also to learn (shiurim, primary sources, online chevrusos...) BUT also for "nonsense".
now that we are moving I thought of quitting the inet-contract. dh is against my suggestion. he says he needs it for his work. this is so true. how do I become more disciplined? I doubt that I am addicted,( I mean I read books, leave the house every day and work /study full time,my house is NOT a mess, I dont have inet on my phone and dont miss it, I actually do meet ppl in real life ) but inet consumes too much of my time , for my taste. its the yetzer horo and my weakness.
how do you keep disciplined ? im happy for any advice ,
thx in advance

I also felt like I was wasting a lot of time on the internet. I would log on to look up a recipe and a half hour later, I still hadn't found the recipe, but found shoes I liked, a book to borrow from the library.... you get the idea! So now, we have K9 set and it blocks all sites except what we really need: banking, my work email, my husband's work email, etc...
We each know only half the password to overide K9-- so if we need to override it, we both need to be there at the computer to type it in.
this has been a huge timesaver for me! Now, for all practical purposes, anything other than banking I can only do at work. This, naturally, limits the amount of time I spend on various sites (including this one), since I can only spend so much time at work on the internet...I have stuff to get done, or I'm out of a job.
hope this helps.
