Shabbos Bereishis opportunity!

There is a Chassidic saying:

"How one acts on Shabbos Bereishis determines the whole year."

What an opportunity!

I would like to make sure that I bentch licht a few minutes early. I've invited someone. And I want to do my best to see to it that it's a peaceful Shabbos.

Thanks so much for posting, Motek. Even though I learnt before, it's so nice to start thinking about it so early in the week and in this forum-- and actually have a chance to think about and plan Shabbos accordingly.

I want to finish making Shabbos before Shabbos!! OK, OK, I wouldn't chas veshalom cook on Shabbos or anything, but too often I end up doing only what "must be done before Shabbos" on Friday. Like I go into Shabbos with a ziploc bag of cooked noodles and another of hard-boiled eggs, and then I turn then into pasta salad and egg salad on Shabbos.

So this Shabbos, iy"h, I want to have all my salads fully completed, seasoned and in the fridge in gladware containers BEFORE licht bentching!! And bentching early is a great idea too!
