We're looking to buy new sofas and the particular brand we've looked at has only fabric or faux leather. I'd like the leather look but am wondering if the faux leather will have the properties of plastic and be sweaty. If you had the option would you rather go for fabric?

You really have to check into the exact kind of faux leather. We have faux leather and the guy said it's the best and while it didn't sweat, it peeled.

I'd rather get microfiber than fake leather. Davka microfiber though, and not any other fabric.

I wouldn't go with faux leather. I've seen too many rips and peels.
See if you can get a bonded leather sofa. Bonded leather is made from scraps of leftover leather. We have a leather blend recliner.
