I don't live in Lakewood so this is more curiosity than anything else, but a couple of months ago there was an article in the Lakewood section of the Yated or Hamodia regarding a new apartment complex. I don't remember the street coordinates but it was near the yeshiva and seemed to have all the maalos - nice kitchens, large square footage, reasonbly priced (they said), even that the front doors of no two apartments would be opposite one another for tznius reasons. Perhaps if I remember correctly it was built in a U shape so kids could have an area to play with no safety issue of cars?
My question is - did this ever take off the ground? What are they asking for in rent? Is it popular? I would imagine - looking from the outside - they were inundated with calls about it.

I believe you are talking about Lakewood Commons II. It is not near the yeshiva at all. I believe they are scheduled to begin selling in January.
Many of the newer developments have all those maalos you listed (except being near the yeshiva, as Lakewood branches out) - nice kitchens, large square footage, private roads, etc.

No door opposing one another? Wow, I think this is going to far! The door would only show way to the entrance!

I totally disagree with you - I think it's great. It is something that is clearly mentioned and praised in the torah (Meforshim of Parshas Balak IIRC) so if they are building a building for Jewish families it's great that they are taking the steps to emulate the Bnei Yisroel!
