Has anyone had these before? I'm not in the states, but apparently its a good snack.
So I found some places online that gave recipe for it. There are tons of different flavors.
I made some today and OMG I am sooo happy I made it and plan to make it again and again.
1/2 cup pitted dates ( I did like 6 or 7 depending on the size)
1/2 cup whole almonds
1/2-1 tsp almond extract- this added a ton of flavor!
a few shakes of ground cinnamon
1-2 tsp of ground flaxseed (this just makes it healthier, but optional)
Blend this all in food processor. Mine has a special part for chopping nuts which is smaller. I used that and it blended very well.
Pour out onto parchment/wax paper. Shape into a long bar. and cut into 4.
Enjoy one for a snack.

I've had these made with pecans (no almond extract), and the stickiness of the dates was reminiscent of pecan pie. YUM.

BTW, I also love oceansofjoy.wordpress.com almond power bars on her blog. Not fat free at all, but healthy fat and such an energizer. Almost like halva, but with nuts instead of sesame.
