My DH may have been offered a position there and neither of us have ever been there. What is the community like? Housing options? I hear it rains everyday for 9 months a year. Is that true? What are the schooling options for people who are more right wing? I hear that they just put up an Eiruv does everyone hold by it? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

We lived there for 10+ years and loved it.
The community is small and very friendly. Great meat, etc. co-op. Kosher bakery/deli. It doesn't rain for 9 months, it drizzles. I loved the weather, but some people get bothered by so many months of grey skies. Winters are pretty mild, though, and summers are glorious. Housing possibilities include apartments, condos, and houses. Pretty reasonable prices (though not as reasonable as where we live now!!). Schooling options are not great, but improving. There is a new day school (I think currently it's only pre-K/K). There is also a Chabad pre/elementary school. Eruv is accepted by everyone, as far as I know (but maybe not Chabad?? I can't remember...). Let me know if there are any other questions I can answer.

Thank you so much for responding. I'll PM you if I have more questions. Was the community open to you homeschooling?

PM me about community response to homeschooling. I think anywhere you live, the response will be very mixed.
