I thought of this because of the how much do you cost thread.
Do you buy yourself things that's really more like a gift item, not a needed, but a want item and something that normally someone would get you?
The first time I was in NY last year, my dh gave me $100 and said, buy yourself something. He knows I never do. I saw something in Eichlers that I loved, but I figured I got myself some clothing, that counts as something for myself. The next time I went, 3 months later, I figured since I wasn't getting any clothing for myself, I would get myself a present, the thing from eichler's.

cute thing!
I often buy myself "gifts". Usually it is something that I want, don't desperately need but will need to buy at some stage or another eg: perfume, makeup, piece of costume jewelry/clothes.
I always ask dh first and then thank him for buying it for me

I buy myself flowers ... My husband would forget or get ones I didn't like...so we made a deal... He surprises me with food I like (sushi, lace cookies etc...) and I buy my own flowers...that way I know he is thinking of me and I get something I actually like!

I buy myself things but not gifts. Gifts by me are from someone else.
