Ok so if I had the choice and the money I would get hardwood floors in most areas if not in all of my house. But since I don't right now anyway (plan on winning the lottery soon) The most practical nice looking even if not beautiful carpet that I got when we moved in was Berber since a) children can play w/h their toy cars on it unlike reg carpet B) it messages the feet and if ones smart and gets the grain one it always gives a clean appearance, mine was cream 5yrs ago and still is that way never looks dirty b/c of the grains Even w/h wine spills and matzoh all over! Just thought I would share this observation w/h you all
