I just read the label of my favorite Good Earth tea more carefully and discovered that it contains the now becoming ubiquitous "natural flavors", which isn't necessarily all that natural. so I'm looking for a healthier alternative. I discovered Honeybush tea online - what's it like? how would it compare to what I'm used to? would it require a hechsher?

I am not familiar with Good Earth teas so I can't make a comparison, but honeybush is a type of herbal tea. It has a sweet, mild flavor. It isn't overly subtle, like white tea, but it doesn't have a strong, distinctive flavor either. The name "honeybush" refers to the leaves of a particular plant which is brewed as an herbal tea. Unless there are added flavors, that is all you are getting in your teabag. Whether or not that requires certification is up to you. In any event, if you can get Tazo brand, they make a nice honeybush tea, and I believe it is kosher certified.
