I took a trip to some national parks, and while on the plane home wrote a poem what inspired me about this trip.

I stand here at Glacier Park, and marvel at the scene

An incredible world of wonder- it’s overwhelming yet serene

Marabu masechu hashem - there are NO words to explain

I finally understand perek shira, how each animal Your greatness can proclaim

Yet there are no words to humanly, adequately show

The feelings of expression that in our heart we all know

He who can move mountains, He who creates the sights we see

HE who plants every tree and leaf, He has a plan individually made for me

I stood a while observing a scene of 16000 acres burnt in a brush fire

And as everyone commented how devastating to see dead trees, that image to me did inspire

Although burnt and no sign of life on these miles and miles of trees

Bereft of animals and greenery, and no sign of any leaves

The same forest that was destroyed by fire, with nothing left at all

Each tree trunk still stands charred and bare YET STANDS FIRM, STRAIGHT AND TALL

And slowly as you gaze, you'll notice small saplings on the ground

With tiny sparks of hope and life if you care to look around

If we only take that lesson and apply it to our lives each day

We too are sometimes burnt out, by challenges that flame our way

Yet if only we would stand erect, straight and tallas well

And care to look beyond the charred dreams the future may still tell

Of newer dreams beneath our feet, small saplings of life and hope

And think about the messages to forge ahead and cope

Another lesson gained as I passed the forests in hundreds of miles today

It’s not the life we live, but what here will eventually stay

When a forest is consumed by fire as sometimes fate does deem

Each pine tree naturally sheds its pines and what you see isn't as it seems

Those dropped pines rejuvenate many years down the line

And rebuild the forest from its parent roots who prepared the future in time

What’s left when we will leave this world, is not the life we live

It’s the pines we drop, the roots we plant, and the chinuch to our children we give

And as I toured the snow capped mountains, and marveled at the June snow

And gazed way beyond the beauty to the vast valleys below

That scene that met my eyes, is beyond penned description

The mirrored image of snow tops in the lake really has Hashems inscription

Just look at the endless beauty and REALLY REbelieve

How majestic is His World, here it’s easy to perceive

The streams oh how they teach us, to constantly go with the flow

No matter the boulders in the way, another route to find is what they show

The gorgeous clear blue rivers, the streams that come in view

I marveled how they just GO WITH THE FLOW and is really what we should too

As we rafted down Snake River and viewed the Tetons as majestic as they be

And those majestic glaciers, woods, fields, mountains and valley

We swayed from side to side the focus was to stay current and be thoughtful of the downstream rocks ahead

It taught me not to perseverate on concerns, learn how the waves just go around the obstacles instead

The geysers blew me away, like no other thing can do–

It taught me that it’s appropriate to vent when you need to! Smile

You gotta enjoy the quiet moments in life - and the calming effect prior to an eruption

And let the geyser release its steam and stay calm with no interruption

As unpredictable as a geyser may be, it will always return to its initial calm state

And prepare us for an outburst with bubbling and foaming behavior so we may remove ourselves before it’s too late

The bald eagles always intrigued me, and teach to let your spirit sour

They always see the bigger picture and know that there is more

They keep their goals in sight and cherish their freedom each day

They fly high above the winds and obstacles that would be in their way

The Grizzly’s - well I wouldn’t want to be within a ten foot pole

But they are definitely worth viewing from a camera lens - a few millimeter hole

They climb beyond their limitations, as we humans should emulate

And when life gets hairy they grin and ‘bear’ it –even what frightens, can educate

We then passed literally hundreds of bison if not more

And what I noticed was the importance of family, they will not on their own explore

The cubs don’t leave the mothers side as she moves one leg at a time

The infant follows step by step not moving out of line

The devotion to her cubs was evident in every way

And even to hunt for food, never too far do they stray

These huge mammals stand their ground and just keep moving on

They have a tough hide and a strong spirit that’s what we learn from a bison

Yellowstone Park is indescribable 2.8 million acres in all

To take each every detail and describe would be close to impossible – ill begin with the waterfall

As the snow melts from the mountains as the sun casts its strong glow

The water rushes with incredible force, and forms rivers and streams below

You watch the waterfall and just want to roar with excitement and go along with the flow

Let your cares fall away and let it just rush below

Our lives are like waterfalls, they rush at an endless frantic pace

We need to know to lets things go until all falls in place

And every few miles you pass, as unreal as it may seem

The landscape setting changes from exciting, charging to serene

The snow packed mountains in the backdrop, with bright greenery in tow

The sun kissed fields behind you and the lush green valleys below

I marveled at the sights, I marveled at the sounds

Astoundingly amazing –awe inspiring and so profound

Why is it that it takes going away, to a seeming world away

To appreciate G-d gifts which He has sent our way

In reality, if I look around in my everyday life I live

I got SO MUCH to appreciate – I got most that I need and even some to give

I Look around my home, and marvel at the miracles each day

Of the children G-d granted me it’s more than I can adequately convey

Open the windows in the morning, and let the fresh breeze blow

Walk but several blocks, and I've got the river that does flow

Step out on my back porch in the evening, and look at the black night

Those beautiful stars that bespeckle our sky, appreciate the sight

Notice the sun peeking out amongst the trees – the sparkling red orange glow

There’s lots more beauty of nature in our own backyard you know

Regardless of the fact, that the beauty is found my own hometown, home and place

I’m ready for another trip out west to see G-ds beauty face to face!

I love it!

I don't know if you wanted critiques, but I think you have a lot of beautiful ideas here, and it would be easier to follow if you would separte each idea into its own stanza, instea of having each 2 lines alone.

I really like the lessons from the burned forest.
