fiction, poetry, mystery.

anyone?

submissions in other categories are welcome as well, but no one's expressed interest in the above. for those of you who are wondering what's going on, we're trying to start a free online magazine for women.

post here or pm me please.

thanks.

I may write a fiction piece. No promises, though. Also, be warned - it will definitely have some kind of paranormal content.

Is there a timeline for when you want it done?

the idea of the magazine is to combine different interests. feel free to write a paranormal piece.

edited to add that I am asking first submissions to be in by next week wednesday (july 25th). might as well get the ball rolling.

Well, I'll keep it relatively tame this time. Frum mags won't accept even the tamest paranormal, so this should be fun. Very Happy

all books. feel free to review what you want, but obviously keep the review clean. if the book has some risque content, add a warning. do you think you can rate the following?

-appropriate imagery
-language content
-religious content

I think this could be really good for women who want to read secular literature but want someone to censor it first. if there are particular chapters that are iffy, please note them so people can skip if they want.

oh, and which books did you get? I need some new shabbos reading material Smile

don't keep it tame, gp2.0. write it as you normally would. if the editors feel it needs taming, they'll let you know Smile

just be open to requests for changes. I think that should be the rule for every submission, aside from recipes. (ed. note: can you change the quantity of baking soda? Wink )

Poetry? You WANT poetry? Oh, I'm in!

I can do poetry.
I usually write intense stuff, a reflection on real life feelings and issues.

Tell me if you're interested.

Without pay, I wonder how many people will actually contribute...

Sometimes, being able to write freely without being censored to rigid magazine guidelines, getting your name out there and just doing what you love, is worth it.

Writers don't make much pay anyway. Most writers do it because they love it, and if they end up getting paid, it's a nice result of putting themselves out there.

If you really want to get paid for writing, you need to do professional writing - copy editing/translating type of work.

For fiction or any magazine and newspaper submissions, I earn an average of .06 cents per word. The most I've heard of writers getting paid is .10 cents per word. For professional writing, I average more like .30 cents a word. With this logic, why should I EVER write for magazines?
