Not sure if this is the right section to post this in, but wasn't sure which would be.
Anyway, I'm looking for ideas for some simple food crafts that can be made on Shabbos, like for kids programs. Something along the lines of "edible sukkahs" and that kind of thing, only since it's not sukkos yet, can't exactly make that now....
Any and all ideas appreciated!

Some Activities Forbidden on Shabbos
25. The prohibition against "Boneh" (construction) [on Shabbos] applies also with regard to food (1), for example, making hard cheese, or connecting fruits together to form an even surface as a decoration. Therefore, when cutting onions to serve together with eggs or creamed herring, one should be careful not to shape or arrange them in an attractive pattern, but to serve them as they are.
FOOTNOTES:
(1) One of the 39 Avos Melachos (prototype prohibited activity - see Halacha Yomi 80:15, note (1)) is called "Boneh" (construction). Therefore, any activity in which one connects parts to make a whole object is considered a derivative (Toladah) of Boneh, and prohibited. |

Basically, check with your LOR about any crafts making foods into interesting shapes/ models on Shabbos.
