I found this article extremely disturbing.

I read the article. I think what they were talking about was secular and frum having human interactions so that they don't hate one another (or in this case, mostly the secular disliking the frum). That is not disturbing to me.
I should add that my dh is from that neighborhood and my IL's (not frum) still live there, so I see both sides of it.
