my very gracious yom tov guests bought me a gift - a digital convection oven!
what to do with it, I have no idea!
do any of you use one? what is it good for? would you recommend it?
I'm trying to figure out if to keep it or just pass it on as a wedding gift to someone.
what are its benefits and caveats?

I have one. I used to use it like a regular toaster oven, though the heating is done in a different manner, so things bake differently. it's not very good for baking cakes, but it's good for grilled cheese, pizza, baked ziti, meat dishes, etc. I don't use it anymore because I need the counter space, but it was useful for a number of years. if you don't want to use it now, save it for pesach.

I LOVE having one because I can have milchigs so much more easily. I don't have to double-wrap lasagna or kasher my non-self-cleaning oven to make cinnamon rolls.
If you never ever make anything milchig or already have 2 ovens (or have found a regular small toaster oven to be sufficient for your needs), then you don't really need it. But for me, it's a HUGE mechayeh.
