My 16yo sister (11th grade in US) babysits for me weekly when I do my grocery shopping as well as other times that we need her.
Our deal is that if she gets a call from someone else to babysit, she should call me and if I need her bedavka that night then I will pay her and otherwise she does it for free.
She gets unlimited, unfought-over computer access and does her homework, talks to her friends etc. Generally the baby is sleeping the whole time. occasionally not or he wakes, but usually sleeps.
I bring her back a lil something every so often- usually a chocolate bar or snack. occasionally a little chatcka that I find and she will like.
Anyways we would like to get her a nice thank you gift for Chanuka. Any ideas? (Other then a gift card) prefer not to spend TONS of money but doesnt have to be something very small since she does a lot for us.

I was your sister (high schooler who babysat for free all the time). My sis and brother in law bought me a nice piece of jewelry for something (16th birthday? high school graduation? I don't remember!) and I realllly felt appreciated. Not that I have specific advice for you just letting you know that I think it's a great idea (to buy something for Chanuka).

That's so thoughtful of you!
My DD is 16, and she recently bought and/ or is asking for:
Jewelry ( cute stuff from Lord and Taylor), Shabbos coat, pretty scarf, cute sweaters. Basically clothing and jewelry!

My 17-year-olds love anything personalized. One idea might be a photo water bottle with a picture of your sister and your baby together: Personalization Mall has some nice ones. Other ideas might be a personalized USB drive or cell phone skin.
