I am not lighting myself. But as I am helping the kids light their Channukiot, I get to say the brachot quite a few times per day LOL

last night was the first time I lit since I don't know when. My husband was back very late so I lit with the kids and he lit again when he came home.

I lit for me and two kids the year that the three of us were traveling on Chanukah. Otherwise DH and the boys light, and the girls under bat mitzvah.

Both my husband, and I grew up in households where everyone lit regardless of gender or age. Everyone lights in our house, except for the cat. She is yotze my husband's lighting.

These days, only DH lights. It's enough to get one menorah ready and all of us gathered around it for 3 minutes, if we're lucky.

We each light and sing the brachot together. We can have so many chanukiyot blazing I fear the fire department will come!

Why under Bat Mitzvah? Seems so strange to me that at bat mitzvah performing any mitzvah would stop!

Is it terrible to say that sometimes I light and sometimes I don't? It depends on what I feel like.

I grew up with all kids lighting, not sure about adults.
