Not exactly about the avatar, but... I've noticed that the amother postings often confuse newcomers. Perhaps it would be more meaningful for the name for an anonymous poster to be ...drumroll please.... "Anonymous Poster"  .
The avatar can be anything - the name will be much more self explanatory and it will tremendously enhance the usabilty for the forum.
Personally, I like the rose its very feminine.

actually, I didn't realize it was the imamother logo until I saw the poll...and said, "Imamother has a logo???" I scrolled up to the top of the page - and there it was! When it's bigger, it's easier to see the mother & baby.
