ok, I know kosher fertilizer sounds strange, but some fertilizer is made from bone or blood meal- ground up from not kosher bones. Is it ok to use that fertilizer on fruit or veggie plants? If not, what kind of fertilizer should I use on my fruit and veggie plants? I don't want one made w/ loads of chemicals.....
amother bec I feel really

Call your rabbi and find out if it's a problem, before you make yourself crazy

Ask your AYLOR but I would assume that by the time it's fully decomposed it doesn't matter.

It had never even occurred to me to be concerned about this. I'll be interested to see what you find out. Most of the fertilizer we use is made from composted animal poop so I'm gonna guess that it doesn't matter.

NEIGH !!!
what do horses eat ...
what about making your own compost heap for a more organic/natural fertilizer ...
I presume if we needed a 'kosher' fertilizer, we would not be able to eat basic produce from the stores ~

Fertilizer for your plants definitely does not need to be kosher. Manure is not kosher as far as I know.... it is all natural though and makes a great addition to your composter
The idea of it sounds like great fodder for the "Chumra of the Month" crowd. "The next big thing... coming to your home improvement store: kosher certified fertilizer"

as long as it doesn't contain milk and meat cooked together, I can't imagine there being any problem.

I dont have a local rabbi to ask | it doesn't seem to me to contain any milk products. We're allowed to benefit from most treif products, the only exception being meat and milk that were actually cooked together.
(there are all sorts of sites online to ask - try askmoses.com )
