frozen here on the ladder of my life

each day I wake up
& I don't know where I am
the birds still chirp
my heart still beats
frozen here on the ladder of my life

my emotions all have run dry
the tears I don't bother to cry
there's a voice screaming in my head
wake up ~ you know you're not dead
frozen here on the ladder of my life

I want to run
I want to play
I want to sing a melody
climbing upon the ladder of my dreams

surrounding sceneries seem to change
my parents have aged
my children grown
feeling stuck in time with my memories
frozen here on the ladder of my life

I look outside
I see the sky
the trees with bright green leaves wave like a friend
never sure if it's 'hello' or 'good-bye'
frozen here on the ladder of my life

people I know they come ~ they go
flittering like a butterfly
some move away some to their graves
as for me ~ I'm left all alone
frozen here on the ladder of my life

Wow! That's a great poem! You should write more often. You're good at it.

I don't check in here very often but for you Tongue Out
Wow. I think it also needs music. Seriously. That's an awesome line that a lot of us can identify with in our own ways.

Excellent writing, I think it speaks for many of us, going through our own personal situations. I hope you find your way up the ladder very soon!

I can relate. Except I feel judged when I am stuck by the people around me who expect me to be moving along with them.

don't let people dictate who you are ... move at your own pace ~ even if/when you're stuck
