I had a baby last year in beginning of year and they had to find someone to replace me for maternity leave which is always annoying for the school - especially with the transition in the beginning. it is not smooth for the students. anyway, I am pregnant again and due in the middle of the year. im scared to tell them - what if they feel like we can't afford to have a teacher who is taking off every year. what if they find some reason to fire me or replace me before the school year for "other reason"?
I am sure they are happiest with teachers who are done having kids or who they know are not going to be having them every year.
has anyone else been in this situation of taking off 2 years in a row for maternity leave? do they ask if you plan to keep doing this every year?

I did it three times in a row, but always at the end of the year. These days I wonder how the school ever took me back year after year. I guess if you work in a frum school they are used to it, although it is extremely annoying to me as a parent when my daughters' teachers take a leave of absence. Obviously nothing to do about it, but still frustrating.
