We know who the donor was. He just didn't want his name publicized. He is not someone we really knew personally before, but kind of a friend of a friend.

Amen, the same to you and all of Klal Yisroel.

WorldsBestMom- the article you recently wrote was beautiful. I was riveted and had to hold back tears. Your description was beautiful and you're an amazing writer. May CD's memory be a blessing and may his neshoma have an aliyah. ((HUGS)) to you during this difficult time of year for you and your family.

I read the article in the Ami magazine. It was written so eloquently and was truly inspiring.
I actually cried on shabbos while reading it...
May his Holy Neshama be a zchus for all of Klal Yisrael.

I never thought that I'll use the word "beautiful" to describe someone's last hours in this world. Your description of your brothers last day, about how he was aware of what was happening yet remained strong and calm is both amazing and uplifting.

over these past few weeks I was thinking about your brother- I remember that he passed away during this time of the year, I remember it was July, somewhere around Tisha B'Av time- so he definitely was on my mind.

I don't get Ami so I didn't see the article, I think my neighbor gets it, maybe ill ask her for her copy

Thinking about your family- hoping you receive strength and comfort around this time of his yartzeit.

Today is Chaim Dovid A"H's 3rd yahrzeit.

In honor of his yahrzeit, I'll post this poem that was printed in "Our Tapestry", a magazine for bereaved mothers. I wrote it last year.

I remember a time,
Not so very long ago,
When we were celebrating your “firsts”.
Your first adorable smile.
Your first tiny tooth.
Your first shaky steps.
Your first pair of shoes.
Your first blond strands of hair.
Your first unclear words.
Your first haircut.
Your first day of school.

All too soon, we began to mourn your “lasts”.
Your last day in Yeshivas Mir.
Your last sad strands of hair during each chemo treatment.
Your last painful steps before your legs became paralyzed.
Your last new pair of shoes, that is sitting there, having hardly been used.
Your last smiles, even after you knew it was all over too soon.
Way too soon.
Your last words in this world; so sad, yet so meaningful.

And in between the firsts and the lasts, there was a life.
Short, yet packed with accomplishments.
Hours spent learning.
Hours of Chessed.
You were always there to lend a helping hand,
And always with a smile.
We cherished your first smile,
And we cherished your last one.
Now we have learned to cherish
Every smile that came in between the two.
All of those smiles
And all of those Mitzvos you did
Will remain in our memories forever,
Even though you are not here to smile anymore.
Those memories are a message for us
To do our best
To follow in your path;
To walk in your pain-filled footsteps,
And to keep that smile on our faces,
No matter how painful life may become.

I saw you posted on another thread, World's Best Mom. It reminded me of Chaim Dovid a"h and his yartzeit in a couple of months.

I still remember him as the happy go lucky kid he was, and I can never forget the day I was told he was sick, and again, when his neshama returned to it's Maker.

May all the memories written here continue to inspire, and may his neshama continue to have an Aliya.

Amen. Thank you, amother. I don't usually come on here anymore, but I took a quick look tonight and found your post. Chaim Dovid's yahrzeit is actually coming up on Monday, the 4th of Av.
