We are iyH putting in a new kitchen. I could have reused some of the cabinets (they still looked good) but I am very concerned about quality. My rental looked great too and then started falling apart. I want solid cabinets that also look nice. My cousin that redid their kitchen recently said we are looking at $7-40,000. I don't want to spend too much $7,000 is a lot and I would be willing to go up to $10,000 if it was really amazing. Key is quality. Space is not crazy large so it wouldn't be a ton of cabinets.

Recommendations of places you personally used with great quality and reasonable prices?

I wouldn't recommend the place I used but I know that Capital Kitchens has the most experienced & has lots of very satisfied costumers. I also heard good things about Nagad, but he's newer. Hatzlacha!

It is not so much what brand but the construction of the cabinets - brand matters much less.

You want 100% plywood boxes, dovetail joints on drawers.

Avoid any particleboard like the plague.

MDF is not as bad as particleboard.

Many brands offer different lines with the same look so the construction is the difference between it holding up in the long run or not.

I used Kitchen Cupboard- I think 13th and 42nd about
718 851-2200

I used them for an $8000 kitchen and they gave excellent service- even when we contacted them about an issue after the job was all done and paid for. From your price range, it sounds like you'll go the semi-custom route- not custom. I would keep away from a company that really specializes in custom, because they can't be bothered with the smaller jobs.

I recommend Creative Woodwork, 1665 61st St Brooklyn, NY 11204
(718) 232-5151

My mother-in-law has a gorgeous kitchen from there. They are reasonable and the 9-year-old kitchen still looks brand new.

I know a few people that used then and were extremely happy. He used to be the designer at Creative Woodworks.
