Is there something like medicaid for low income familys in texas? What other plans are there available?

There's medicaid - the income limit is very low

and there's medicaid for pregnant women which has much higher income levels - the baby is then automatically covered by medicaid for one yr after birth

and then there's CHIP - which is insurance for children. The CHIP program has pretty high income limits and is accepted by a lot of great doctors and hospitals. There is no monthly rate but there are copays varying depending on your income limits.

Sure.
I can't remember where to find the numbers for regular medicaid-here is a short survey you can take and they'll tell you what you're eligible for. Also, one note I forgot to mention, for medicaid there is an asset level of $3000. They don't count your house or car, but other than that you can't have more than $3000 to your name.
