Any ideas for where we can go for a few days that is a few hours away from NY. A lot of amusement parks seem to be closed. Boston was one idea but I'm not sure if there is anything to do there. We once went to Niagra Falls and enjoyed that.

How old are your kids, and what types of activities are you looking to do? If you want amusement parks, check Busch Gardens in VA, or Six Flags New England. Also Lake George. If you like nature, New Hampshire is beautiful this time of year, and not too crowded. Washington DC / Baltimore can be combined and have plenty to do, plus religious amenities.

My kids are ages 15 to 3. When we go on smaller trips they are usually to keep the little kids happy. In this case my younger kids can adapt to whatever the older ones are doing. I would like an amusement park along with other activities, but if there's an attraction that is good enough not to go to an amusement park that's good also. It looks like Busch Gardens and the Great Escape are closed during the week. What is there to do in Boston?

Look in the local papers. These are some things I saw advertised: Hershey, Dorney together with Coco-key indoor water park, Lake George indoor water park, Sahara Sam indoor water park.
Jiminy Peak is usually open.

Washington is great! We went there over the summer. Everyone enjoyed it my husband, me and kids ranging from 17- 4! All the National Parks and museums are free! the air and space museum, supreme court, congress (not that exciting), the mall. We hope to go back to see more!!!!

In this week's Hamodia (9/11) there is an ad on page A17 for the Chol Hamoed getaway at Dorney Park (water park closed) and Coco-Key (water park separate hours.) the ad says food will be available. I've heard it's a great trip and a fundraiser for a yeshiva
The phone number is 347-675-2759
