Is book keeping a well paid job in Israel? Either part time or full time?

I don't have detailed salary information, but in general it isn't too high-paying. I think the pay is similar to an office job. And there is no career ladder to climb. We have a family friend who retrained as a technical writer after 20 years of bookkeeping.
